Exploring consulting careers in financial services

Perspectives from Grandview Analytics’ Fall 2025 Internship

A valuable internship requires the right mix of challenge, structure, freedom, and opportunities to make an impact. Most importantly, it requires finding the right person for the job.

This fall, Grandview Analytics welcomed Mishel Voskanyan as an operations management intern, to work on projects that influence how we run and scale our business.

Mishel is a senior at Lake Forest College, where she studies Economics with a Finance focus, along with Psychology. Though she was new to consulting, her prior experience at world class institutions like JPMorgan and the Central Bank of Armenia, coupled with her drive and appetite for learning, enabled her to contribute meaningfully to Grandview Analytics throughout her semester-long internship.

Her main project was to help us improve key business workflows within Grandview Analytics’ own business. As our company grows, so does the need for clarity around how information flows, where decisions happen, and how teams collaborate. Mishel was involved in mapping those workflows, identifying friction points, and exploring ways to further leverage internal data and artificial intelligence to make everyday processes more streamlined, scalable, and automated.

In the course of this project, she was exposed to disciplines such as data gathering, data cleansing, data governance, and AI. “We established the ‘golden source’ of data, where data from different business units such as sales, recruiting, and staffing come together,” she explained.

Reflecting on her experience, Mishel said, “It’s been a lot of fun with a lot of exploring. I think the beauty of consulting is that as much as you know where you’re going, you’re constantly learning and discovering new paths along the way. The most rewarding part has been having an open mind, being curious, trusting the process, and achieving results.”

Mishel’s eagerness to learn and contribute was well received. Her research background and analytical skills meshed well with financial data management.

“Through my internship, I learned that Grandview Analytics is so special because their consultants have extensive experience in different fields within finance,” she said. “I read this on their website, but I didn’t understand the depth of their experience until I got to speak with them about their professional journeys. They can jump into a project without hesitation and engineer solutions drawing on their deep domain knowledge.”

Upon graduation, Mishel looks to combine her various disciplines in finance and economics and is preparing for her next career step as she concludes her final college year.

Thank you Mishel for your contributions, and for bringing your energy, insight, and curiosity to the team!
