Tim Kane is Director at Grandview Analytics, where he specializes in bridging communications gaps and managing complexity within asset management organizations. With over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, Tim leverages his early career application development and data architecture experience to bring a systemic approach to operational leadership roles and investment portfolio management. Throughout his career he has acted as a “citizen developer” building prototypes and defining requirements to support data reconciliation, ABOR/IBOR reporting, performance attribution, and portfolio trading and monitoring, with a particular focus on the broadly syndicated loan asset class.Prior to joining Grandview, Tim spent 8 years in Information Technology at Van Kampen Investment followed by 15 years at PPM America. At PPM, Tim started in Private Investment Operations and progressed to Portfolio Manager for PPM’s floating rate income strategy where he led portfolio modeling, credit selection, reporting, and trading for a variety of portfolios including 40-act mutual funds and CLOs totaling over $4 billion in AUM.Tim holds an MS degree from Northwestern University in Communications Systems Strategy and Management and a BA in Business from Governors State University. He is a lifelong resident of the Chicago area and currently resides in Wheaton, IL with his wife and two children. He enjoys time with family and their two cats Polly and Freya, attending his children’s marching band and theatrical performances, indie music, reading, and finding opportunities for continuous self-improvement.
